Unique Treasures Get Custom Treatment

The National Agricultural Library (NAL) proudly observed the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) 150th anniversary in 2012. To commemorate this milestone and help preserve the history of USDA, NAL selected two historically significant artifacts from its Special Collections to receive conservation treatment. The Frank N. Meyer expedition certificate and Charles Valentine Riley’s Natural History of Insects are one-of-a-kind treasures that represent some of the many accomplishments made by the people of USDA.
